I recently had an incredible experience that I’m excited to share with you all—my first interview with CTV News Calgary! It’s amazing how social media can connect us, and that’s exactly how CTV discovered my passion for travel and photography. They reached out after seeing some of my recent travel posts, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to take part.
The Love for City Signs
One of the most memorable things about traveling is capturing those iconic city signs that are instagram worthy. Whether it’s a "welcome to XXX country sign" or an elaborate landmark, these signs evoke a sense of belonging and nostalgia. For me, it's not just a photo op; they represent experiences, memories, and the excitement of exploring new places.
During our trip to Calgary last year, one of the highlights was visiting the iconic Banff sign. It was on our bucket list, and standing there, soaking in the majestic Rockies, was pretty cool. I remember the thrill of snapping that photo, capturing the moment forever. It wasn’t just about the sign; it was about everything it represented: the adventures we had together, new experiences and the joy of travel.
The Interview Experience
When CTV reached out, I was a mix of excitement and nerves. I’ve always considered myself an open book, eager to share my thoughts and experiences, but being on camera always makes me a little nervous. The interview was casual and friendly, which helped ease my nerves. We discussed not only my love for photography but also why city signs resonate with so many travelers.
One of the points I emphasized was the universal appeal of these signs. They check off locations on our bucket list—like a badge of honour after visiting a place. They represent our experiences, our adventures, and the memories we create along the way.
Connecting with the Community
What struck me most during the interview was the sense of community surrounding travel. Sharing our experiences—whether through social media or in conversations—brings people together. The love for city signs is a testament to that connection. They remind us of the places we’ve been and inspire us to explore further.
As I talked about my travels and photography, I always love hearing about other people's travel experiences. It’s moments like these that remind us of the beauty in sharing our stories, connecting with others, and celebrating our shared experiences.
Final Thoughts
I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to share my passion with a wider audience. If you’re a seasoned traveler or someone who enjoys a local adventure, remember to embrace those iconic city signs. They’re more than just a landmark; they’re symbols of our journeys.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure! I can’t wait to share more travel stories, tips, and photography with you all. Keep exploring, keep capturing, and keep sharing your love for travel. Who knows? Maybe your own story will inspire someone else to hit the road and find their own iconic signs along the way!
